Weather Situation
Slow moving shower and thunderstorm activity in a very moist tropical airmass is producing heavy rainfall.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Winton, Blackwater, Hughenden, Richmond and Pentland.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and Central Coast and Whitsundays districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Herbert and Lower Burdekin,Central Coast and Whitsundays
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Burdekin River

RENEWED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SELLHEIM OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BURDEKIN DAM, DALBEG, CLARE AND INKERMAN BRIDGE
Significant rainfall totals have been recorded in the upper Burdekin catchment on the eastern ranges around Paluma and surrounds which have resulted in river level rises and flooding.
High rainfall totals were recorded overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in the upper Burdekin catchment which have resulted in renewed river level rises. A renewed flood peak is expected at Sellheim overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Renewed rises are likely to be observed in the lower Burdekin catchment as floodwaters move downstream.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the next few days. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as necessary.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is currently at 12.25 metres and rising, above the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim may reach the moderate flood level (14.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is currently at 4.03 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall in the coming days.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg peaked around 14.91 metres Tuesday evening and is currently at 13.08 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (10.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Clare peaked around 12.35 metres Wednesday morning and is currently at 11.85 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (9.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Clare is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) overnight Wednesday and into Thursday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is currently at 9.68 metres and falling, just below the moderate flood level (10.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is may reach the moderate flood level (10.00 m) Wednesday evening. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Connors And Isaac Rivers

MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT YATTON FROM EARLY THURSDAY MORNING
Moderate to heavy rainfall totals have been observed over the northeast part of the Fitzroy River Catchment since Monday, this has resulted in river and creek level rises along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is likely at Yatton.
Showers and possible heavy rainfall at times is forecast over the next few days which may cause further river and creek level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Connors and Isaac Rivers.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 8.63 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (7.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (9.50 m) early Thursday morning. The river level may reach around 10.30 metres Thursday afternoon. Further rises are likely and peak predictions will be provided once upstream peaks are observed.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BOWEN PUMP STATION
Moderate to heavy rainfall totals have been observed across the Don and Proserpine River catchments since last week. Minor flooding is occurring along the Don River at Bowen Pump Station.
Rainfall and thunderstorms forecast over the next few days may cause rapid river and creek level rises across the Don and Proserpine River catchments. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Don River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Don River.
No observations are available for the Don River at Bowen Pump Station, however the river level is expected to be currently around the minor flood level (2.50 m).
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station may remain around the minor flood level (2.50 m) overnight Wednesday and into Thursday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Proserpine River:
River levels are elevated along the Proserpine River, with further rises possible with forecast rainfall.
