ELEVATED RIVER LEVELS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ALONG THE ALBERT RIVER (INCLUDING AT BURKETOWN), LOWER NICHOLSON AND GREGORY RIVERS
Small renewed river level rises are occurring along Lawn Hill Creek following localised rainfall Thursday into Friday. This is expected to bring renewed rises along the Albert River in the next few days, including at Burketown Airstrip. River levels remain elevated but are continuing to fall across the Gregory River.
Further rainfall may develop through the weekend and into next week, which may result in additional renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country.

Nicholson and Gregory Rivers:
Flooding is expected to be continuing at some low lying areas.

MODERATE FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE CONTINUING AT BEDOURIE AND ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT GLENGYLE
FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT MARION DOWNS
The flood peak along Eyre Creek is passing Bedourie. Downstream at Glengyle, moderate flooding is estimated to be occurring as floodwaters continue arriving.
Renewed river level rises along the upper Georgina River at Roxborough Downs peaked below minor and are falling, with small renewed below minor rises possible downstream.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the catchment for the next few days, however, no significant rainfall and no impact on current river levels are expected.

Georgina River to Marion Downs:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Georgina River at Marion Downs and upstream.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs fell below the minor flood level late Wednesday morning and continues falling. The river level is currently at 1.90 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m), with small renewed rises possible.

Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs:
River levels remain elevated along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs.
Eyre Creek:
Moderate flooding is occurring along Eyre Creek.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 4.13 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) into next week.

No observations are currently available for the Eyre Creek at Glengyle. The river level at Glengyle is estimated to be around the moderate flood level and rising.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to remain around the moderate flood level (3.00 m) into next week. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Major Flood Warning For The Lower Flinders River And Final Flood Warning For The Upper Flinders River

FLOODING HAS NOW EASED AT RICHMOND
MAJOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO CONTINUE AT WALKERS BEND
River level rises are occurring along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond following moderate to heavy rainfall earlier in the week. The river level at Richmond along the Flinders River is estimated to have fallen below the minor level Friday morning and will remain below the minor level through the weekend. Further rainfall is forecast from early next week. This may result in renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be issued as required.
Further downstream, a renewed peak was observed on Thursday afternoon at Walkers Bend, where major flooding is expected to continue for the next few days. Renewed river rises are expected as upstream flows arrive, but these are not expected to exceed river levels observed earlier this month.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf of Carpentaria.

Flinders River to Richmond:
Flooding has now eased along the upper Flinders River at Richmond.
No observations are currently available for the Flinders River at Richmond Post Office. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level (5.00 m) and falling.
The Flinders River at Richmond Post Office is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) through the weekend.

Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
Major flooding is occurring along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 8.66 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is expected to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BIRDSVILLE DURING NEXT WEEK
River levels remain elevated along the Diamantina River, where the main flood peak is downstream of Monkira and slowly approaching Birdsville. Minor flooding is likely to develop at Birdsville during next week.
River levels at Diamantina Lakes remain above the moderate flood level and the causeway.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is currently at 4.85 m and steady, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and above the level of the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
River level rises are occurring along the lower Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes. Minor flooding is continuing at Monkira.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station was at 1.80 m and steady on Wednesday, below the minor flood level.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) during next week. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
