MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT JUNDAH AND WINDORAH
MODERATE FLOODING EASING AT STONEHENGE
Along the Cooper Creek the main flood peak is approaching Windorah from the Thompson River. At Windorah major flooding continues, with a major flood peak possible from Thursday evening.
Along the Thomson River, major flooding is easing at Jundah. Upstream, moderate flooding is continuing to ease at Stonehenge and minor flooding is easing at Camoola Park and Longreach.
Along the Barcoo River, the main flood peak is passing through Retreat, where river levels peaked just below the moderate flood level Wednesday evening.
Thomson River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Thomson River at Camoola Park and Longreach. Moderate flooding is occurring at Stonehenge. Major flooding is occurring at Jundah.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park was at 2.95 m around 06:00 am Wednesday and falling, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.00 m) into Friday.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 3.84 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.30 m) into the weekend.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge was at 3.45 m around 08:20 am Thursday and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge may remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) into the weekend.
The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 5.80 m around 07:00 am Thursday and steady, with major flooding.
The Thomson River at Jundah is likely to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) over the weekend and into next week.
Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Barcoo River at Retreat.
The Barcoo River at Retreat peaked at 4.45 m around 07:00 pm Wednesday, just below the moderate flood level (4.50 m). The river is currently at 4.33 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Barcoo River at Retreat may remain above the minor flood level (2.14 m) over the weekend and into next week.
Cooper Creek:
Major flooding is occurring along the Cooper Creek at Windorah.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah is currently was at 6.45 m around 06:30 am Thursday and rising, with major flooding.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah may peak near 6.60 m Thursday evening, with major flooding.
