MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT CAMOOLA PARK, LONGREACH AND STONEHENGE AND POSSIBLE AT JUNDAH, RETREAT AND WINDORAH
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ISISFORD
Multiple flood peaks are currently moving through the Thomson River. A flood peak has passed Camoola Park and is now approaching Longreach, where moderate flooding is occurring. Further downstream, Stonehenge had an initial peak above the minor flood level on Sunday, and is now approaching another peak around the moderate flood level. Renewed rises are likely at Stonehenge as upstream flows arrive. As these flows continue to move downstream, moderate flooding is possible at Jundah from late Wednesday afternoon.
Along the Barcoo River, a peak around the moderate flood level was observed at Isisford during Monday, this peak is now approaching Wahroongha. As these flows move downstream, renewed river level rises are likely at Retreat, and moderate flooding is possible from later this week.
Along the Cooper Creek, minor flooding is occurring at Windorah (Main Channel). Renewed river level rises are occurring as upstream flows arrive from the Thomson River, and moderate flooding is possible from late Thursday. Further rises are likely into March as upstream flows arrive from the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers.
Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
Further rainfall and showers are possible over parts of the catchment for the next few days. This warning will be updated as required.
A Severe Weather Warning is current for Heavy Rainfall in the far lower reaches of the catchment, including Durham Downs.

Thomson River:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Thomson River at Camoola Park, Longreach, Bogewong and Stonehenge, and likely at Jundah. Minor flooding is occurring at Muttaburra.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is currently at 4.35 m and falling slowly, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days. Renewed rises are likely over the coming days as upstream flows arrive.

The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 4.98 m and around a peak, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.30 m) for the next few days. Renewed rises are likely from the end of the week as upstream flows arrive.

No observations are currently available for the Thomson River at Stonehenge. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, it is estimated that the Thomson River at Stonehenge is around the moderate flood level (3.00 m) and steady.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge may remain around the moderate flood level (3.00 m) for the remainder of Wednesday and into Thursday. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 3.71 m and rising, with minor flooding (2.50 m).
The Thomson River at Jundah may exceed the moderate flood level (4.00 m) from late Wednesday afternoon. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

Barcoo River to Isisford:
Minor flooding is easing along the Barcoo River at Isisford.
The Barcoo River at Isisford Post Office is currently at 4.28 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Barcoo River at Isisford Post Office may fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) from Wednesday afternoon.

Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Barcoo River at Retreat. Minor flooding is occurring at Wahroongha.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is currently at 3.01 m and steady, with minor flooding (2.14 m).
Renewed river level rises are likely along the Barcoo River at Retreat, where moderate flooding (4.50 m) is possible from late this week. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Cooper Creek:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Cooper Creek at Windorah. Moderate flooding is occurring at Nappa Merrie.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah (Main Channel) is currently at 3.65 m and rising, with minor flooding (3.00 m).
The Cooper Creek at Windorah may reach around the moderate flood level (4.57 m) from late Thursday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

RAPID RIVER AND CREEK LEVEL RISES AND FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE LOWER DIAMANTINA CATCHMENT
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG THE WESTERN RIVER AT WINTON
Heavy rainfall is forecast across the lower parts of Diamantina catchment for the next few days, with heavy rainfall already observed along the Farrars Creek. Rapid creek and river level rises and localised flooding are possible with heaviest rainfall, including around Birdsville.
Further upstream along the Diamantina River, river levels remain above the moderate flood level at Diamantina Lakes. Further river level rises are likely downstream of Diamantina Lakes over the next few days as upstream flows arrive.
Along the Western River at Winton, river levels are above the moderate flood level and slowly easing.
A Severe Weather Warning is current for Heavy Rainfall in the far lower reaches of the catchment, including Birdsville, Morney and Davenport Downs Station.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is currently at 4.44 m and steady, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and well above the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway level (2.10 m).
Western River:
Moderate flooding is easing along the Western River at Winton.
The Western River at Winton is currently at 2.35 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Western River at Winton is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (2.00 m) for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flooding is occurring at Monkira. Rapid river level rises and minor flooding possible along the Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes, with forecast heavy rainfall. Further rises are also possible as upstream flows arrive.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT THARGOMINDAH FROM LATE WEDNESDAY
Moderate rainfall has been recorded across the Bulloo River downstream of Quilpie since Monday morning. Minor flooding is occurring at Thargomindah, and the river level may exceed the moderate flood level during late Wednesday.
Further showers and storms are forecast over the next few days, which may result in further river level rises along the Bulloo River.

Bulloo River downstream of Quilpie:
A flood peak is approaching Soonah Crossing on the Bulloo River. Moderate flooding is occurring at Autumnvale and minor flooding is occurring at Thargomindah.
As at 9:15am AEST on Wednesday, the the Bulloo River at Thargomindah was at 4.35 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Bulloo River at Thargomindah is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (4.50 m) Wednesday evening. The river may reach around 4.70 m during Thursday, with moderate flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving tropical low is located over the southeast of the Northern Territory. Rich tropical moisture surrounding this system is feeding into a trough in the southwest of the state, with persistent thunderstorm activity occurring.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely, with six hour rainfall totals between 50 and 80 mm.
Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is also possible with slow-moving lines of thunderstorms, most likely from this evening and overnight into Thursday morning. Six-hourly rainfall totals of around 110 mm are possible.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with the tropical low may affect the western Channel Country for much of the week.
These conditions also threaten cattle and other livestock.

The main flood peak along the Paroo River has moved through Caiwarro and is approaching Hungerford, where minor flooding is likely to peak overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment during the next few days, which may lead to additional river and creek level rises. This situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A minor flood warning is current for the Paroo River in NSW.

Paroo River downstream of Eulo:
Minor flooding is occurring at Hungerford.
At 6:00 am Tuesday, the Paroo River at Hungerford was 1.22 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Paroo River at Hungerford is likely to peak near 1.30 m overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with minor flooding.

Areas of heavy rainfall are forecast to continue across parts of the Georgina River and Eyre Creek catchments for the next few days, with significant rainfall having been observed in the upper reaches of the catchment over the last few days. Further creek and river level rises, localised flooding, and overland inundation are likely to continue. These conditions are likely to affect road access, and some communities will become isolated.
River level rises are occurring along the Georgina River and its tributaries following rainfall over the last week. Major flooding is likely along the Georgina River at Marion Downs from Tuesday evening. As this peak moves downstream, moderate flooding is likely at Bedourie during Tuesday afternoon. Minor flooding occurring at Glengyle.
Continued heavy rainfall across parts of the catchment is expected to impact downstream locations over the coming weeks, with further river and creek level rises likely. The situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
