NEAR MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT HALIFAX
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE AND ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE AND POSSIBLE AT INGHAM PUMP STATION AND GAIRLOCH OVERNIGHT TUESDAY
Rainfall since Sunday across the Herbert River catchment is causing river level rises across the catchment. Near moderate flooding is occurring at Halifax. Minor flooding is occurring at Gleneagle and Abergowrie Bridge, and is likely to continue for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday. With forecast rainfall, minor flooding is possible at Ingham Pump Station and Gairloch overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday, which may lead to further river level rises and additional flooding across the catchment. This warning will be updated as required.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring at Gleneagle.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be above the minor flood level and rising.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Near moderate flooding is occurring at Halifax. Minor flooding is occurring at Abergowrie Bridge, and is possible at Ingham and Gairloch.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 6.77 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday.
The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station is currently at 8.39 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station may exceed the minor flood level (10.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with forecast rainfall.
The Herbert River at Gairloch is currently at 8.09 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Herbert River at Gairloch may exceed the minor flood level (9.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with forecast rainfall.
The Herbert River at Halifax is currently at 4.46 m and rising, just below the moderate flood level.
The Herbert River at Halifax may remain around the moderate flood level (4.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Small renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
