Weather Situation
Tropical Low 29U is situated in northern parts of the North West district and will gradually move to the southeast during Sunday. The monsoon trough extends inland from this low and is focusing heavy rainfall through the northern interior. Meanwhile rich tropical moisture feeding into a developing trough in southeast Queensland will see rainfall increasing during Sunday and continuing during Monday.

Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
FOR THE NORTHERN INTERIOR: HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible over parts of the northern interior this morning. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 25 and 50 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 100 mm possible. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 50 and 70 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 120 mm possible.
FOR THE SOUTH EAST: HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is expected over parts of the Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Southeast Coast, Wide Bay and Burnett and Central Highlands and Coalfields. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 40 and 80 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 100 mm possible. Isolated falls around 170 mm are possible on the Sunshine Coast. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 50 and 100 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 150 mm possible.
There is some uncertainty where the heaviest rainfall will occur, particularly through the southeast of the state. Further extensions towards the coast and north into the Capricornia district are possible for Sunday night into Monday.

MAJOR FLOODING PEAKING AT MARION DOWNS
BEDOURIE AND GLENGYLE LIKELY TO REMAIN AROUND THE MAJOR LEVEL INTO NEXT WEEK WITH RENEWED RISES EXPECTED
The main flood peak along the Georgina River is passing through Marion Downs, with major flooding easing slowly at Roxborough and Glenormiston.
Further downstream along Eyre Creek at Bedourie, the river level remains around the major flood level. Downstream at Glengyle, major flooding is expected to be continuing. Significant renewed rises are expected in the coming weeks at Bedourie and Glengyle as the main flood peak from the upper catchment arrives.
Elevated river levels and overland inundation are likely across the catchment as floodwaters move downstream. Road access is likely to be affected, and communities may become isolated.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the upper catchment for the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises.
Georgina River to Marion Downs:
Major flooding is continuing at Marion Downs, Roxborough Downs and Glenormiston.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs is currently at 6.65 m and steady, with major flooding nearing its peak.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs is expected to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) into next week.
Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs:
River level rises are occurring along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs, as the main flood peak is moving downstream. Moderate flooding is easing along King Creek at Cluny.
Eyre Creek:
River levels remain elevated around the major flood level along the Eyre Creek at Bedourie and Glengyle, with significant renewed rises expected as the main flood peak from upstream arrives.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 4.95 m and steady, just below the major flood level.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is expected to remain around the major flood level (5.00 m) for the next few days. Significant renewed rises above the major flood level (5.00 m) are expected along the Eyre Creek at Bedourie over the weekend and into next week, as the main flood peak from upstream approaches.
No current river level observations are available for the Eyre Creek at Glengyle. The river level is estimated to be around the major flood level.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to remain around the major flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days. Significant renewed rises are likely from mid next week as upstream flows arrive.

MAJOR FLOODING AT WALKERS BEND EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO NEXT WEEK
MINOR FLOODING MAY OCCUR AT RICHMOND POST OFFICE FROM SUNDAY WITH FORECAST RAIN
The main flood peak along the Flinders River has moved downstream of Etta Plains and is approaching Walkers Bend. The flood peak along the Cloncurry River has passed through Canobie, upstream of its junction with the Flinders River.
River levels continue rising along the lower Flinders River and its tributaries, with major flooding at Walkers Bend continuing, as floodwaters from both the Cloncurry and Flinders rivers arrive.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast over the weekend and into next week, with heavy rainfall possible, which may cause further river level rises across the catchment and flooding in the upper Flinders catchment.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for parts of Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and North West Forecast Districts.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland.
Flinders River to Richmond:
Minor flooding may occur along the upper Flinders River to Richmond from Sunday with forecast rain.
No current river level observations are available for the Flinders River at Richmond Post Office. The river level is expected to be below the minor flood level.
The Flinders River at Richmond Post Office may exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) from Sunday with forecast rain. Higher levels are possible.
Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
River levels are elevated along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond, with major flooding continuing at Walkers Bend.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 8.89 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is expected to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) into next week. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

MODERATE FLOODING CONTINUING ALONG THE DIAMANTINA RIVER AT BIRDSVILLE
Significant rainfall was observed across the Diamantina catchment during last week, resulting in rapid river level rises. Elevated river levels are occurring downstream of Diamantina Lakes on the Diamantina River, with a moderate peak downstream of Diamantina Lakes.
Along the Diamantina River at Birdsville moderate flooding is continuing after a moderate flood peak on Monday morning. Another flood peak is between Monkira and Roseberth.
Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is currently at 5.46 m and steady, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and well above the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway level (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Roseberth and Birdsville. Minor flooding is occurring at Monkira and is easing at Durrie Station.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 6.55 m and slowly falling, with moderate flooding.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (6.00 m) until about mid March. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
