MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT TALWOOD
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Weir River at Talwood where river levels are falling slowly. The flood peak is now downstream of Talwood around Jericho.
River levels are rising downstream of Talwood along the Weir and Barwon Rivers to Mungindi where moderate flooding is occurring. Moderate flooding is occurring at Mascot. A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Barwon River (NSW).
No significant rainfall has been recorded across the Weir River catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Wednesday and no significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South. Major flooding is occurring at Jericho.
The Weir River at Talwood is currently at 3.62 metres and falling with moderate flooding.
The Weir River at Talwood is likely to fall below the moderate flood level (3.50 m) during Thursday. Floodwaters from the Weir River are now arriving at Mungindi along the Barwon River at the Queensland / New South Wales border.
