MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT DAINTREE VILLAGE SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH FORECAST RAINFALL
Elevated river levels are occurring along the Daintree and Mossman rivers. With further showers and thunderstorms forecast during Sunday and into Monday, renewed river level rises and minor flooding are possible from Sunday afternoon.
The situations is being monitored.
Daintree River:
Minor flooding is possible at Daintree Village.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 2.95 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) Sunday afternoon with forecast rainfall.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
