Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Heavy Rainfall, Damaging Winds And Large Hailstones
for parts of Somerset, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Redland City, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms approaching Moreton Bay and the Redlands.
HEAVY RAINFALL, DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Somerset, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Redland City, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:25 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, damaging winds and large hailstones were detected near Cleveland, Redcliffe and the area northwest of Toowoomba. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect the area north of Toowoomba, Murphy's Creek and Point Lookout by 6:55 pm and Esk, Crows Nest and the area southwest of Esk by 7:25 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 7:30 pm.
