MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT HALIFAX LATE MONDAY EVENING
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE AND ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has resulted in river level rises across the Herbert River catchment. Minor flooding is occurring at Gleneagle and Abergowrie Bridge. Moderate flooding is likely from late Monday evening at Halifax. At this stage, flooding is not expected at Ingham Pump Station and Gairloch.
Further rainfall is forecast over the coming days. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for adjoining catchments.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River at Gleneagle.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, river levels are expected to be above the minor flood level.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) over the next few days. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Herbert River at Halifax, with minor flooding occurring at Abergowrie Bridge.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 7.27 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Herbert River at Halifax is currently at 4.01 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Herbert River at Halifax is likely to reach around the moderate flood level (4.50 m) Monday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
