Flood Warning Number: 14
MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT YATTON AND TARTRUS
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT YAAMBA FROM SATURDAY EVENING AND AT ROCKHAMPTON FROM MONDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall across the Fitzroy River Catchment from early Sunday has resulted in rapid river and creek level rises throughout the Connors, Isaac and Mackenzie River catchments, as well as the Theresa Creek catchment.
Major flooding is slowly falling at Yatton along the Isaac River, where the river level may fall below the major flood level Thursday morning. Major flooding is also occurring along the Mackenzie River at Tartrus, where a major flood peak is expected from Thursday morning.
River level rises are expected along the Fitzroy River later in the week as flows arrive from the Mackenzie River. Minor flooding is possible at Yaamba from Friday and at Rockhampton from Sunday afternoon. Moderate flooding is possible at Yaamba from Saturday evening and at Rockhampton from Monday. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast across most of the catchment for the next few days, which may cause river level rises in southern and western parts of the catchment, but are not expected to significantly impact river levels in the Fitzroy River at this stage.
Nogoa River:
Along Theresa Creek moderate flooding is occurring at Gregory Highway. Major flooding is occurring at Duckponds.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Pink Lagoon. Major flooding is occurring at Yatton.

Fitzroy River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Riverslea.
No observations are currently available for the Fitzroy River at Yaamba, however the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level.
River level rises are expected later in the week and into next week as flows arrive from the Mackenzie River. The Fitzroy River at Yaamba may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) from Friday. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (12.00 m) from Saturday evening. The river is likely to peak below the major flood level (15.00 m) from Tuesday 20 January. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton was at 2.70 m at 3:00 pm Wednesday and falling with the tide, below the minor flood level.

The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton may exceed the minor flood level (7.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (7.50 m) Monday 19 January. The river may peak above the moderate flood level (7.50 m) from overnight Tuesday 20 January into Wednesday 21 January. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

Flood Warning Number: 14
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT CAMOOLA PARK, LONGREACH, JERICHO AND POSSIBLE AT STONEHENGE AND BARCALDINE
Rainfall over recent days and weeks has caused river level rises across the upper Thomson River catchment. Minor flooding is occurring at Camoola Park and Longreach. Minor flooding is possible at Stonehenge from early Friday as upstream floodwaters arrive.
Heavy rainfall was recorded across the Jordan Creek and Alice River catchments overnight Monday and into Tuesday, causing minor flooding at Jericho. As these floodwaters move downstream, minor flooding is possible at Barcaldine from Thursday.
Further rainfall is forecast this week, with the remnants of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji forecast to move into northwest Queensland from today, lingering until late this week. This is likely to result in renewed river level rises and flooding. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for the Gulf Country and parts of Western Queensland and the Cape York Peninsula, which includes the Thomson and Barcoo catchments.
