Final Flood Warning For The Daintree And Mossman Rivers

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT DAINTREE VILLAGE
Heavy rainfall earlier this week caused river level rises along the Daintree and Mossman Rivers during Tuesday and Wednesday. River levels are now easing.
Further showers are forecast during Thursday and Friday but significant rainfall totals are not expected.
Daintree River:
Flooding is no longer expected at Daintree Village.
A peak below the minor flood level was recorded along the Daintree River at Daintree Village on Wednesday morning. The river level is currently at 1.65 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
Mossman River:
River levels are easing along the Mossman River.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
