Minor Flood Warning For The Cape, Suttor And Burdekin Rivers

MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING AT TAEMAS, ST ANNS, BURDEKIN FALLS DAM, DALBEG, CLARE AND INKERMAN BRIDGE (BURDEKIN BRIDGE)
Moderate to heavy rainfall from last week into early this week has caused river level rises and flooding along the Cape, Belyando, Suttor and Burdekin Rivers.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Cape River at Taemas and the Suttor River at St Anns. Further downstream along the Burdekin River, minor flooding continues at Burdekin Falls Dam, Dalbeg, Clare, and Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge), following minor flood peaks during Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 5.36 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Suttor River at St Anns is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 6.46 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Cape River at Taemas is likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin river at Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin Dam is currently at 3.75 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin Dam is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 11.33 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 9.85 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Clare is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is currently at 7.45 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (7.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
