Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River And Minor Flood Warning For The Cape River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT ST ANNS
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAEMAS EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment since Saturday evening, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns, with a moderate flood peak possible from Friday.
Further moderate rainfall has been observed over parts of the Cape River catchment since Wednesday. Minor flooding is possible along the Cape River at Taemas from early Friday morning.
Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 7.05 m and rising, with moderate flooding (6.50 m).
A moderate flood peak is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from Friday.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding may occur along the Cape River at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 4.11 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Cape River at Taemas may exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) from early Friday morning.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
