Issued at 4:24 am Thursday, 3 July 2025.
Damaging winds continue about the Main Range easing Thursday morning.
Weather Situation
A vigorous west to southwesterly flow has developed about the Main Range in response to a low pressure system off the New South Wales coast.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are likely about the Main Range and adjacent eastwards slopes early this morning.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds later this morning.
Locations which may be affected include Crows Nest.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.

* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 am AEST Thursday.
