Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT ST ANNS
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment since Saturday evening, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments.
Along the Suttor River at St Anns, moderate flooding is occurring, with a moderate flood peak possible from Friday.
Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 6.67 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
A moderate flood peak is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from Friday.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Major Flood Warning For The Mackenzie River, Moderate Flood Warning For The Connors-Isaac And Fitzroy Rivers And Flood Warning For The Nogoa River Catchment

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT TARTRUS AND MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT YATTON
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT YAAMBA FROM SATURDAY EVENING AND AT ROCKHAMPTON FROM MONDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall across the Fitzroy River Catchment since Sunday has resulted in rapid river and creek level rises throughout the Connors, Isaac and Mackenzie River catchments, as well as the Theresa Creek catchment.
River levels are slowly falling at Yatton along the Isaac River, where moderate flooding is occurring. Along the Mackenzie River at Tartrus the river level is near a peak, with major flooding.
River level rises are expected along the Fitzroy River later in the week as flows arrive from the Mackenzie River. Minor flooding is possible at Yaamba from Friday and at Rockhampton from Sunday afternoon. Moderate flooding is possible at Yaamba from Saturday evening and at Rockhampton from Monday. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast across most of the catchment for the next few days, which may cause river level rises in parts of the catchment, but are not expected to significantly impact river levels along the Fitzroy River at this stage.

Nogoa River:
Along Theresa Creek moderate flooding is occurring at Gregory Highway. Major flooding is occurring at Duckponds.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Pink Lagoon and at Yatton.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 16.36 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Isaac River at Yatton is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (9.50 m) for the next few days.

Mackenzie River:
Major flooding is occurring at Coolmaringa and Tartrus. Minor flooding is occurring at Bedford Weir and Bingegang.
The Mackenzie River at Tartrus is near a peak at 16.19 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Mackenzie River at Tartrus is likely to remain above the major flood level (15.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday.

Fitzroy River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Riverslea.
No observations are currently available for the Fitzroy River at Yaamba, however the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level.
River level rises are expected over the next few days as flows arrive from the Mackenzie River. The Fitzroy River at Yaamba may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) from Friday. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (12.00 m) from Saturday evening. The river is likely to peak below the major flood level (15.00 m) from Tuesday 20 January. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton was at 4.25 m at 8:56 am Thursday and falling with the tide, below the minor flood level.
River level rises are expected over the next few days as flows arrive from the Mackenzie River. The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton may exceed the minor flood level (7.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (7.50 m) Monday 19 January. The river may peak above the moderate flood level (7.50 m) from overnight Tuesday 20 January into Wednesday 21 January. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
