Moderate Flood Warning For The Lower Balonne River And Balonne River Minor And Minor Flood Warning For The Bokhara River

MODERATE FLOOD PEAK EXPECTED AT DIRRANBANDI DURING MONDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ST GEORGE AND POSSIBLE AT HEBEL FROM WEDNESDAY
Moderate rainfall over the past couple weeks resulted in elevated river levels across the upper Balonne River catchment, with flows now moving through the lower catchment. The main flood peak along the lower Balonne River is around Whyenbah and is expected to reach the Balonne River Minor at Dirranbandi during Monday, with moderate flooding. The river level at St George peaked just below the moderate flood level on Friday afternoon, with minor flooding continuing.
Further downstream along the Bokhara River, another flood peak is around Dirranbandi-Hebel Road. Minor flooding is possible at Hebel from Wednesday as flows arrive from upstream.
No significant rainfall is forecast across the catchment for at least the next few days.
A Minor Flood Warning is current for the upper Balonne River.
Lower Balonne and Bokhara Rivers, Balonne River Minor:
Moderate to major flooding is occurring along the lower Balonne River and Balonne River Minor. Minor flooding is possible along the Bokhara River.
No observations are currently available for the Balonne River at St George. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to have peaked around 7.95 m Friday afternoon, with minor flooding.
The Balonne River at St George is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) for the next few days.
The Balonne River Minor at Dirranbandi is currently at 4.58 m and slowly rising, with moderate flooding.
The Balonne River Minor at Dirranbandi is expected to peak near 4.70 m during Monday, with moderate flooding.
The Bokhara River at Hebel is currently at -0.05 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Bokhara River at Hebel may exceed the minor flood level (1.00 m) from Wednesday.

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT JUNDAH AND LIKELY AT WINDORAH FROM MONDAY
MODERATE FLOODING EASING AT LONGREACH AND STONEHENGE, LIKELY AT RETREAT FROM TUESDAY
Along the Thomson River, moderate flooding continues at Longreach. The main flood peak has passed through Stonehenge, where a moderate flood peak was observed during Saturday. Major flooding is occurring at Jundah with a major flood peak expected overnight Sunday.
Along the Barcoo River, minor flooding is easing at Isisford. The main flood peak is currently approaching Glenlock. These flood waters may cause moderate flooding at Retreat from Tuesday morning.
Along the Cooper Creek at Windorah, the creek level remains elevated above the moderate flood level, with renewed rises above the major flood level likely from Monday as flood peaks arrive from both the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers.
Forecast heights and timings will be refined as upstream peaks are observed. The situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Thomson River:
Major flooding is occurring along the Thomson River at Bogewong and Jundah.
No recent observations are available for the Thomson River at Camoola Park. The river is estimated to be above the minor flood level (2.00 m) and falling.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park may fall below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Monday.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 4.54 m and falling slowly, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach may fall below the moderate flood level (4.30 m) during Monday.
No river level observations are currently available for the Thomson River at Stonehenge, based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is expected to be above the moderate flood level and falling.

Minor flooding has now eased at Baralaba, Beckers and Knebworth.
