Minor Flood Warning For The Barcoo River And Cooper Creek, And Final Flood Warning For The Thomson River

MINOR FLOODING EASING AT RETREAT AND ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT WINDORAH
Along the Thomson River, a second flood peak has now moved downstream of Jundah where minor flooding has eased. It is likely that this second flood peak is now on the Cooper Creek around Windorah, where it is estimated that the river level is above the minor flood level and around a peak.
Moderate rainfall was observed along parts of the Barcoo River during Thursday into Friday last week which resulted in river level rises and a minor flood peak at Retreat during Sunday evening.
Further areas of showers and rainfall are possible over parts of the catchment over the next few days which may see renewed river level rises in some areas. This warning will be updated as required.
Thomson River:
Minor flooding has eased along the Thomson River.
The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 2.40 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Jundah is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.50 m).
Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Minor flooding is easing along the Barcoo River at Retreat.
The Barcoo River at Retreat peaked at 2.95 m around 6:00 pm Sunday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 2.51 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is likely to fall below the minor flood level (2.14 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Cooper Creek:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along Cooper Creek.
No observations are currently available for the Cooper Creek at Windorah. Based on upstream gauges, it is estimated that the creek level is above the minor flood level and nearing a peak.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah may peak near 4.00 m Monday afternoon, above the minor flood level (3.00 m).
