Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Damaging Winds, Heavy Rainfall And Large Hailstones
for Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim and parts of Southern Downs, Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Toowoomba Council Areas.

DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Ipswich, Logan, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were detected near Warwick, Laidley and the area between Stanthorpe and Warwick. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Stanthorpe and Boonah by 10:15 pm and Ipswich and Beaudesert by 10:45 pm.

93 km/h wind gust recorded at Dalby at 7:48 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 11:00 pm.
