MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT MT MORRISTON, ROSS AND MORNINGSIDE
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BELOW LAKE LEAKE
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT CRESSY PUMPS TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate flooding is occurring in the upper Macquarie River, extending to Morningside. Minor flooding is expected to develop downstream at Cressy Pumps from Tuesday afternoon. Minor flooding is occurring along the Elizabeth River below Lake Leake.
In the 48 hours to 1:00 pm Monday, rainfall totals of up to 70 mm have been recorded in the Macquarie River catchment.
Further rainfall totals of 5-10 mm are forecast for the Macquarie River catchment for the remainder of Monday.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard over the next few days.
Macquarie River above Mt Morriston:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River above Mt Morriston.
The Macquarie River at Mount Morriston is currently at 2.33 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Macquarie River at Mount Morriston is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (2.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river level may fall below the moderate flood level (2.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Macquarie River - Mt Morriston to Elizabeth River:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River - Mt Morriston to Elizabeth River.
The Macquarie River at Ross is currently at 2.77 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Macquarie River at Ross is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (2.50 m) for the remainder of Monday.
Elizabeth River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Elizabeth River.
There are no available observations for Lake Leake, however Lake Leake is likely to be spilling.
The Elizabeth River below Lake Leake is currently at 1.19 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Elizabeth River below Lake Leake is expected to remain above the minor flood level during Monday.
Isis River:
River levels are elevated along the Isis River.
Macquarie River - Elizabeth River to Lake River:
Moderate flooding is expected along the Macquarie River - Elizabeth River to Lake River.
The Macquarie River at Morningside is currently peaking around 5.61 metres, with moderate flooding.
The Macquarie River at Morningside is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (5.50 m) during Monday. The river level may fall below the moderate flood level (5.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
Lake River:
River levels are now easing along the Lake River.
Macquarie River - Lake River to Longford:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Macquarie River - Lake River to Longford.
The Macquarie River at Cressy Pumps is currently at 1.90 metres and rising.
The Macquarie River at Cressy Pumps is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) Tuesday afternoon.
