Damaging winds have eased across the state, but gusty conditions likely to remain today.

Strong northwesterly winds ahead of a trough have pushed across much of the state, currently on an easing trend in the northeast. Gusty west to southwesterly winds are expected in its wake through Victoria today.

The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.

93 km/h wind gust was recorded at Hopetoun at 4:15pm Friday.
91 km/h wind gust was recorded at Falls Creek at 2:35pm Friday.
94 km/h wind gust was recorded at Avalon at 2:20pm Friday.
98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Horsham at 2:16pm Friday.
93 km/h wind gust was recorded at Kilmore Gap at 2:14pm Friday.
91 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Hotham at 2:09pm Friday.
