Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
East Gippsland forecast district
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures and southwesterly winds are expected during Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the East Gippsland forecast district. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Cancellation of Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts
The Warning to Sheep Graziers for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts has been cancelled.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Saturday.

for Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Winds have eased through eastern Victoria.

Weather Situation
A vigorous southwesterly airstream in the wake of a low pressure system has moved east of the state and winds have eased below warning thresholds. Fresh winds and gusty conditions will likely continue on the southeastern coastal fringe into the afternoon.

104 km/h wind gust was recorded at Falls Creek Airport at 8:14 am.
119 km/h wind gust was recorded at Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse at 6:12 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Final Flood Warning For The Macalister River
Issued at 10:10 AM AEST on Saturday 30 August 2025

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT LICOLA
Elevated river levels are occurring along the Macalister River upstream of Lake Glenmaggie but minor flooding is no longer expected at Licola.
Rainfall totals of 10-23 mm have been recorded in the catchment in the last 48 hours. No significant rainfall is forecast across the catchment for the next few days.

Macalister River upstream of Lake Glenmaggie:
Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Upper Macalister River at Licola.
The Macalister River at Licola peaked below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 2.21 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Macalister River at Licola is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.70 m).

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
