    Warning for the following areas:
    North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and North West
    
    Safety Advice:
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties over the North West with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties. 
    
    Over the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands maximum temperatures in the high twenties over elevated parts with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to low twenties. Along coastal parts maximum temperatures increasing to the low to mid thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties. 
    
    Severe heatwave conditions are expected to build over the coming days then ease mid next week.  Locations likely to be impacted include Camooweal and Urandangi.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Sunday 11 January 2026
