    Warning for the following areas:
    Gulf Country, North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Herbert and Lower Burdekin and North West
    
    Safety Advice::
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures will range from the high thirties to low forties in the Gulf Country and North West districts, grading to the low to mid thirties along the Carins and Townsville coasts with overnight minimum temperatures ranging similarly from the high twenties in the Gulf Country and North West districts to low twenties near the coast.   
    
    Severe heatwave conditions are continuing to over parts of eastern and northwestern Queensland over the coming days.   Locations likely to be impacted include Innisfail.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Tuesday 24 December 2024
