Final Flood Warning For The Daintree And Mossman Rivers

Flood Warning Number: 9
NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED AT DAINTREE VILLAGE
Moderate to heavy rainfall late last week, and further rainfall over the weekend, caused renewed flooding across the Daintree and Mossman River catchments. The heavy rainfall risk has now eased, and river levels are easing. Flooding is no longer expected along the Daintree and Mossman Rivers.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula and North Tropical Coast.
Daintree River:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Daintree River.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 2.95 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
Mossman River:
River levels are easing along the Mossman River.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
