    Warning for the following areas:
    Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
    
    Safety Advice:
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures in the mid to high thirties, reaching the low forties about parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, with overnight minimum temperatures in high teens to mid twenties. 
    
    Severe heatwave conditions are likely to persist through until mid next week, reaching a peak over the weekend and the early part of next week.  Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Beaudesert, Boonah, Caboolture, Caloundra, Esk, Goondiwindi, Ipswich, Stanthorpe and Warwick.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Saturday 20 December 2025
