Valid for Sunday 19 October 2025 to Wednesday 22 October 2025
Warning for the following areas:
North West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego
Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to the mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties increasing to the mid to high twenties over southwestern parts over the next few days.
The heat is expected to gradually build over the next few days before slowly contracting northwards later this week. Locations likely to be impacted include Boulia, Cunnamulla, Quilpie and Windorah.
The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Monday 20 October 2025
