    Valid for Wednesday 25 December 2024 to Saturday 28 December 2024
    
    Warning for the following areas:
    Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West and North West
    Cancellation for the following areas:
    North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Peninsula
    
    Safety Advice::
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures will range from the mid to high thirties to mid forties with overnight minimum temperatures ranging from the mid to high twenties.  
    
    Severe heatwave conditions are expected to extend briefly into eastern parts of Queensland later this week. Severe heatwave conditions have eased over northern tropical parts.  Locations likely to be impacted include Burketown, Julia Creek, Mornington Island and Winton.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Thursday 26 December 2024
