Minor Flood Warning For The Darling River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MENINDEE, POONCARIE AND BURTUNDY
The main flood peak along the Darling River is now at Menindee, where minor flooding is occurring. The river level is likely to remain steady above the minor flood level through to the end of the week as WaterNSW plans to maintain current release levels. Subject to inflow conditions, the current release level may be extended further. The release plan follows consultation with the SES and local communities.
Downstream of Menindee, minor flooding is occurring at Pooncarie and Burtundy, where river levels are steady.
Darling River downstream of Wilcannia to Burtundy:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Darling River at Menindee, Pooncarie, and Burtundy.
The Darling River at Menindee town gauge is likely to remain near 9.00 metres through to the end of the week, with minor flooding.
The Darling River at Pooncarie is likely to remain near 6.90 metres through to late August, with minor flooding.
The Darling River at Burtundy is likely to remain near 6.70 metres through to early September, with minor flooding.

FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE NEW SOUTH WALES NORTH AND CENTRAL WEST INLAND RIVERS FROM SATURDAY
A cold front associated with a low pressure system is bringing showers or rain areas to parts of western New South Wales for the remainder of Friday into the weekend. This rainfall may cause minor flooding along the North and Central West inland NSW rivers. Renewed rises and major flooding is also possible along the Macquarie River which experienced flooding due the rainfall last week and has a flood warning current.
Catchments are wet following recent rainfall
The weather system is expected to cause renewed flooding for the following catchments listed from Saturday. Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.

Macquarie River to Bathurst
Macquarie River d/s Burrendong Dam

Orange, Molong and Bell River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WEE WAA (GLENCOE)
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BUGILBONE AND GOANGRA
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) peaked at 6.11 metres Thursday morning, with minor flooding and is currently falling, with minor flooding.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday into this weekend which may cause renewed river level rises and flooding. A flood watch is current for Namoi River.
Minor flooding is also possible downstream along the Namoi River at Bugilbone over the weekend and at Goangra mid next week.

Minor flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Wee Waa. Minor flooding is possible along the Namoi River at Bugilbone over the weekend and at Goangra mid next week.
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) peaked at 6.11 metres around 08:00 am Thursday 11 August, with minor flooding and is currently at 5.41 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone may reach near the minor flood level (4.90 metres) over the weekend.
The Namoi River at Goangra may reach near the minor flood level (5.50 metres) mid next week.

FLOODING IS NO LONGER OCCURRING AT YARRAMAN
The Gwydir River at at Yarraman has fallen below the minor flood level (4.00 metres).
Further rainfall is forecast across the Gwydir catchment later this week, which may cause renewed river rises, with the potential flooding along the Gwydir River. The situation is being monitored closely.
Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam:
Flooding is no longer occurring at Yarraman.
The Gwydir River at Yarraman Bridge fell below the minor flood level (4.00 metres) around 5:45am Wednesday.
