Initial Minor Flood Warning For Tuggerah Lake

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT LONG JETTY
Heavy rainfall has been observed overnight Sunday into Monday in parts of the Wyong River and Tuggerah Lake catchment with up to 120 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours to 5 am Monday. This has caused river and lake level rises, with minor flooding occurring at Long Jetty.
Further showers are forecast for the remainder of Monday which may cause further river and lake level rises. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Tuggerah Lake:
Minor flooding is occurring along Tuggerah Lake.
The Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty may peak near 1.00 metres Monday morning, with minor flooding.

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
