Major Flood Warning For The Upper Balonne

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WARKON AND SURAT
FLOOD PEAK AROUND 10.50 METRES POSSIBLE AT SURAT OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY
The flood peak is around Warkon along the Balonne River where major flooding is occurring. At Surat major flooding is occurring and a major flood peak is possible overnight Sunday into Monday. Further downstream at Warroo minor flooding is possible into next week. Elevated river levels and flooding are occurring along Dogwood Creek.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Minor flooding is easing along Dogwood Creek at Pine Hill Crossing
Balonne River to Surat:
Major flooding is occurring along the Balonne River to Surat.
The Balonne River at Warkon is currently peaking at 10.82 m, with major flooding.
The Balonne River at Warkon is expected to remain above the major flood level (9.00 m) for the next few days.

No observations are currently available for the Balonne River at Surat. Based on the river level at the nearby automatic station, the river level is estimated to be above the major flood level (9.0 m) and rising.
The Balonne River at Surat may peak near 10.50 m overnight Sunday into Monday, with major flooding.

Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam:
Minor flooding is possible along the Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam.
The Balonne River at Warroo is currently at 6.18 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Balonne River at Warroo may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) into next week. Peak forecasts will be provided as upstream peaks are observed.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Lower Condamine River

MODERATE FLOODING EASING AT CONDAMINE TOWNSHIP
MODERATE FLOODING SLOWLY EASING ALONG CHARLEYS CREEK AT CHINCHILLA
The peak flow is around Cotswold, where major flooding is occurring. Upstream at Condamine Township, moderate flooding is easing, while moderate flooding is continuing to ease along Charleys Creek.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Major flooding is occurring along the Lower Condamine River at Cotswold and upstream at Condamine Township moderate flooding is easing.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is currently at 5.69 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

The Condamine River at Condamine peaked at 8.10 m around 08:30 am Friday, with major flooding. The river is currently at 7.85 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Condamine River at Condamine may fall below the moderate flood level (7.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.

Charleys Creek:
Moderate flooding is occurring along Charleys Creek at Chinchilla and upstream at Burncluith Bridge.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is currently at 5.21 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla may fall below the moderate flood level (5.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
