Minor Flood Warning For The Diamantina River

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BIRDSVILLE FROM LATE TUESDAY
River levels remain elevated along the Diamantina River, where the main flood peak is downstream of Monkira and slowly approaching Birdsville. Minor flooding is likely to develop at Birdsville from late Tuesday.
River levels at Diamantina Lakes are now below both the minor flood level and causeway.
Further areas of showers and rainfall are possible over parts of the catchment over the next few days which may see renewed river level rises in some areas. This warning will be updated as required.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes has fallen below the minor flood level (2.00 m) as well as the level of the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flooding is occurring at Monkira. River level rises are occurring along the lower Diamantina River downstream of Monkira.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 3.00 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) from late Tuesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For Eyre Creek

MODERATE FLOODING TO CONTINUE AT BEDOURIE AND GLENGYLE
The flood peak along Eyre Creek is slowly approaching Bedourie. Downstream at Glengyle, moderate flooding is also continuing to rise slowly. River level rises are expected to continue over the next few days.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible over parts of the catchment for the next few days, however, this is not expected to have a significant impact on river levels.

Eyre Creek:
Moderate flooding is occurring along Eyre Creek. Minor flooding is occurring along King Creek at Cluny.
At 9 am Monday, the river level along Eyre Creek at Bedourie was observed at 4.30 m and slowly rising, with moderate flooding.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days.

At 9 am Sunday, the river level along Eyre Creek at Glengyle was observed at 3.30 m and slowly rising, with moderate flooding.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) for the next few days.

MODERATE FLOODING CONTINUES AT WALKERS BEND
Renewed river level rises are occurring along the lower Flinders River following major flooding during January. Moderate flooding is occurring along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend, where the river levels are above the height of the Burke Development Road Bridge (5.40 m).

Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
Moderate flooding continues along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 5.73 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (5.30 m) for the next few days.
