Minor Flood Warning For The Macintyre River

MINOR FLOODING RECEDING AT GOONDIWINDI
Moderate rainfall totals have been recorded across the Macintyre River catchment during the weekend, resulting in river level rises in the Dumaresq and Upper Macintyre Rivers. The main flood peak has now passed through Goondiwindi, where minor flooding is receding slowly.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Macintyre River downstream of Holdfast:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Macintyre River at New Kildonan and Goondiwindi.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla peaked at 4.87 m around 08:15 pm Tuesday 29 July, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 4.37 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla will remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m).

The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi peaked at 5.10 m around 11:30 pm Tuesday 29 July, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 4.81 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi may fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
