Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt
Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperatures in the mid to high forties in the west and the low thirties to low forties in the east. Overnight minimum temperatures in the high twenties to low thirties in the west and the mid teens to mid twenties in the east.
Severe heatwave conditions are expected to peak on Wednesday, with a slight easing trend from the east into the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Birdsville, Bollon, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Longreach, Quilpie, Roma, St George, Thargomindah and Windorah.
