A humid and unstable airmass is in place with a southeasterly wind change moving through the southeast. Severe thunderstorms are moving to the north and are expected to continue throughout the afternoon and evening. Gusty thunderstorms are also occurring along a trough in the interior of the state.
LARGE, POSSIBLY GIANT HAILSTONES, DAMAGING, LOCALLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Southeast Coast
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce large, possibly giant hailstones, damaging, locally destructive winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts. * Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Minor Flood Warning For The Dawson River

RENEWED RISES AND MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BARALABA LATER THIS WEEK
A flood peak is moving down the Upper Dawson River and is nearing Gyranda Weir. This peak, in combination with forecast rainfall and storms from late Wednesday, may result in renewed river level rises and minor flooding along the Dawson River at Baralaba.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba later this week.
No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Moura, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (6.00 m) and falling.
The Dawson River at Moura is likely to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
