for Damaging Winds, Heavy Rainfall And Large Hailstones
for Cherbourg and parts of Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Brisbane City, Gympie and Somerset Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms continuing in the Darling Downs, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba, and developing over the Western Downs and Burnett region.
DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Cherbourg, Ipswich, Gympie, Logan, Somerset, Scenic Rim, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley and Brisbane City
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:40 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were detected near Haden and the area south of Helidon. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Kingaroy, Gatton and Grantham by 7:10 pm and the area northeast of Kingaroy, Wacol and Archerfield by 7:40 pm.
60.mm was recorded at Jimna in the 30 minutes to 2:55pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Southeast Coast and Maranoa and Warrego districts.
Other warnings may be current.
The next warning is due to be issued by 7:50 pm.
