    Minor Flood Warning For The Namoi River

    MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BOGGABRI, WITH A MINOR PEAK LIKELY SUNDAY EVENING
     MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WEE WAA FROM OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY AND AT NARRABRI MONDAY EVENING
     The flood peak along the Namoi River from recent rainfall is approaching Boggabri where a minor flood peak is likely Sunday evening. Minor flooding is possible at Wee Waa from overnight Sunday into Monday and at Narrabri Monday evening.
     The earlier flood peak has passed downstream of Goangra and is now downstream of Walgett on the Barwon River. Minor flooding is occurring at Goangra, where the river level is falling slowly but is likely to remain above the minor flood level through the early part of the coming week.
    
    Namoi River:
    Minor flooding is occurring at Boggabri and Goangra and  is possible at Narrabri and Wee Waa.
    The Namoi River at Gunnedah peaked at 7.58 m around 06:45 am Saturday 23 August, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 6.26 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
    The Namoi River at Gunnedah is expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.30 m) during Sunday.
    
    The Namoi River at Boggabri is currently at 7.02 m and steady, with minor flooding.
    The Namoi River at Boggabri is likely to peak near 7.20 m Sunday evening, with minor flooding. 
    
    The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri is currently at 3.73 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
    The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri may reach around the minor flood level (4.90 m) Monday evening. 
    
    The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) is currently at 4.88 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
    The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) may exceed the minor flood level (5.30 m) from overnight Sunday into Monday. The river may reach around 6.00 m during Tuesday 26 August, with minor flooding. 
    
    The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 6.29 m and falling slowly, with minor flooding.
    The Namoi River at Goangra is likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.50 m) during the early part of the coming week. 
    
    Flood Safety Advice:
    Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
     Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
     Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
