Minor Flood Warning For The Victoria River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT KALKARINDJI OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
River levels are rising across the Victoria River catchment on Saturday in response to recent rainfall. Minor flooding is possible in the upper Victoria River at Kalkarindgji.
Possible heavy falls with thunderstorms are forecast over the coming days and may lead to further river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Central and Western Inland Areas

Upper Victoria River:
River levels are elevated along the upper Victoria River and further rises are possible.
The Victoria River at Kalkarindji is currently at 6.22 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Victoria River at Kalkarindji may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Victoria River between Armstrong River and Wattie Creek:
River levels are elevated along the Camfield River and the Victoria River between the Armstrong River and Wattie Creek.
Victoria River between Battle Creek and Armstrong River:
River levels are elevated along the Victoria River between Battle Creek and the Armstrong River.
Victoria River below Battle Creek:
River levels are elevated along the Victoria River downstream of Battle Creek.

Major Flood Warning For The Daly River

MAJOR FLOODING PEAKING ABOVE 1998 FLOOD LEVELS; PROLONGED FLOOD PEAK EXPECTED
Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River at the Daly River Police Station, where river levels are currently peaking above the 1998 flood level (16.25 m). River levels are expected to remain around the current peak over the weekend and stay elevated above the major flood level well into next week.
Moderate rainfall is forecast over the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Central and Western Inland Areas.

Lower Daly River:
Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River.
The river level is currently peaking around 16.40 m, above the 1998 flood level, with major flooding.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is likely to remain around 16.40 m overnight Saturday into Sunday. The river is expected to remain above the major flood level (14.00 m) well into next week.
