Headline:
Tropical Cyclone Narelle continues to intensify in the northern Coral Sea, and is expected to bring severe impacts to Far North Queensland.

Areas Affected:
Warning zone: None.

Watch zone: Lockhart River to Port Douglas, and adjacent inland areas.

Cancelled zone: None.

Details of Tropical Cyclone Narelle 34U at 4:00 am AEST:
Intensity: Category 2, sustained winds near the centre of 110 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 155 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 35 kilometres of 12.2 degrees South 154.4 degrees East, estimated to be 660 kilometres northeast of Willis Island and 1050 kilometres east northeast of Cooktown.
Movement: west northwest at 18 kilometres per hour.
Tropical Cyclone Narelle (34U) is currently at category 2 intensity in the northern Coral Sea. Narelle is expected to move steadily to the west and approach the far northeast Queensland coast between Lockhart River and Port Douglas. A severe impact is likely late in the week.

Hazards:
VERY DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS in excess of 200 km/h are possible near the centre of Tropical Cyclone Narelle as it crosses the coast.
DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS to 155 km/hr are possible between Coen and Cooktown from Thursday night.
Gales with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS to 120 km/hr are possible between Cape Melville and Port Douglas from early Thursday morning.
Gales with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS to 120 km/hr are also possible between Lockhart River and Cape Melville from Thursday afternoon.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible between Cape Melville and Port Douglas from Thursday evening, extending inland during Friday. LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL is possible between Lockhart River and Cape Melville, and also inland areas west of Coen, from Friday.
Tides will be higher than normal between Coen and Port Douglas. LARGE WAVES may produce MINOR FLOODING of low-lying coastal areas. There is a small risk that tides may approach the highest tide of the year during Friday.
Tides in Princess Charlotte Bay may rise significantly above the normal high tide, DAMAGING WAVES and DANGEROUS FLOODING is possible for low-lying coastal areas.

Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS FROM TUESDAY EVENING
Moderate rainfall during last week over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments caused river level rises in the upper catchment. As flows arrive from upstream, minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from Tuesday evening.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 3.50 m and slowly rising, below the minor flood level.
The Suttor River at St Anns may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) Tuesday evening. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Final Flood Warning For The Daintree, Bloomfield And Mossman Rivers

RIVER LEVELS HAVE EASED AND FLOODING IS NO LONGER OCCURRING
River levels and flooding have eased along the Daintree, Mossman and Bloomfield Rivers after significant rainfall over the last few days.
Further rainfall is forecast later this week, which may cause renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and a new warning will be issued if required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula and the Daintree catchment.

Daintree River:
River levels are falling and flooding has eased along the Daintree River, and along the Bloomfield River at China Camp.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 3.00 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is likely to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).

Mossman River:
River levels have eased along the Mossman River.

FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING ALONG THE MULGRAVE AND RUSSELL RIVERS
Moderate to heavy rainfall across the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers catchment over the last few days, caused rapid river level rises across the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers catchments, resulting in minor flooding at Peets Bridge and Gordonvale. River levels are falling and flooding have eased along the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers.
Further rainfall is forecast later this week, which may cause renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and a new warning will be issued if required.

Mulgrave River:
River levels are easing along the Mulgrave River. Minor flooding has eased at The Fisheries.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is currently at 3.16 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m).

The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is currently at 8.90 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is likely to remain below the minor flood level (12.00 m).

Russell River:
River levels are easing along the Russell River. Minor flooding has eased at Clyde Rd.
