     for ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES
     
     for parts of South East, Western, Upper Derwent Valley and East Coast Forecast Districts.
     
     Issued at 10:16 pm Monday, 23 June 2025.
     
     
     Abnormally High Tides for Southern Tasmania
     
     Weather Situation
    A cold front will cross the state early Tuesday morning, with a deep low to move to the south of the state later Tuesday. This is expected to bring gales and elevated sea levels for the south.
    ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES for the following areas:
    Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East and East Coast
    ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES may lead to sea water flooding of low-lying coastal areas between Southport and the Tasman Peninsula, including locations along the Derwent River. These conditions may also affect Macquarie Harbour. Tides are likely to rise WELL ABOVE the normal high tide mark during Tuesday evening's high tide with tides again rising ABOVE the normal high tide mark Wednesday evening.
     A separate Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS is also current. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.au/tas/warnings/
     Locations which may be affected include Strahan, New Norfolk, Hobart, Dover and Dodges Ferry.
    
     
     The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
     * Supervise children closely.
     * Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
     * Manage pets and livestock.
     * Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters.
     * Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004.
     * Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
     * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
     
     The next Coastal Hazard Warning will be issued by 5:00 am AEST Tuesday.
     Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
