MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT PEETS BRIDGE, POSSIBLE AT GORDONVALE THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
Heavy rainfall overnight across the Russell and Mulgrave River catchments has resulted in river level rises and flooding.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge and is possible at Gordonvale Thursday afternoon. Flooding is occurring along the Russell River.
Mulgrave River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mulgrave River.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is currently at 5.47 m AHD and rising, with minor flooding.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is likely to reach around 5.70 m AHD Wednesday morning, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is currently at 11.55 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale may reach around the minor flood level (12.00 m) Thursday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Russell River:
River levels are elevated and flooding is occurring along the Russell River.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
